Ross Norton Park - Clearwater, Florida

This park off of south Greenwood has its charm, no doubt. Ross Norton has nine holes, in the middle of a frequently busy recreation area. It has good use of available space. The tee for hole 1 is at the extreme (south) west end of the park by the ball park.

Update: It seems Clearwater is thinking twice about this course, because they obliterated several holes to put in some new facilities, and have let the disc golf course go. I feel so dissed. Only a few baskets were in play the last time we stopped in. Not enough to make it worth the effort. I hear they're going to add some holes along the western side of the lake. If they do that it will be nice as long as it's not summer. The mosquitoes there can be awful.

Even newer update: I visited the rec center during business hours. The ladies remembered the course being used quite a bit, but since the new facility has been erected, several other baskets have been removed, therefore only two or three remain. That's not enough to play even nine holes unless alternate tee pads are invented, not something we like to do. I will call Bob Barry at the Clearwater Parks and Recreation some time this week and get his take on all the courses in Clearwater.
